What We Believe

What We Believe

God

  • We believe in one God as described in the Bible, who created all things and is sovereign over all things. We believe that the one God exists in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

Jesus

  • We believe in Jesus as the Messiah, the incarnate Word, the Son of God who came to earth and lived a sinless life, died on the cross for the sins of mankind, and rose from the dead, and is the only way for mankind to be saved (John 14, Acts 4)

The Church

  • We believe that the church is everything that the scriptures say it is – the bride of Christ, the family of God, the body of Christ, God’s army. The church is not a building to visit or a meeting that people attend, but is the people of God, collectively serving God. We expect every member of the church to be actively involved as part of the family of God, and not simply be a spectator. The mission of the church is to share the gospel of Jesus with everyone, as Jesus stated in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20)

The Bible

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and is the standard by which we must live our lives and practice Christianity, and we are attempting to follow the Bible as the rule for our lives, both individually and as a church.

Salvation

  • We believe that Jesus is our Savior, that the message of salvation is found in the scriptures, and that the power for salvation is in the blood of Christ. We believe that anyone who wants to be saved can be saved by following what the scriptures teach about how to become a Christian and follow Jesus as his disciple.

Sin and holiness

  • While disciples are sinners saved by grace, the Bible is clear that repentance is necessary. We believe in the transformative power of God’s Spirit and the fellowship of relationships in the church to help Christians live holy, Christ-like lives.

Politics and social issues

  • The church is not a political organization, and the church holds no political positions. Our members come from all political backgrounds. As disciples of Jesus, we are expected to love all people as neighbors, as commanded by Jesus and exemplified by him.

Other areas of teaching

  • We encourage anyone interested in the church to meet with us for personal bible studies. Our opinions are not important. Rather, we want to base everything we believe and practice on the Word of God (Acts 17:11). Click here for information about getting together for a personal Bible study.
